At the Bienvenu Shelter, we witness every day the strength and resilience of migrant and refugee women who are working tirelessly to rebuild their lives. Many arrive after experiencing conflict, war, displacement, and significant hardship. While access to safe accommodation is a crucial first step, it is not enough on its own. Rebuilding a life requires a place of safety, basic needs, trust, love and the right to access education, skills, and real opportunities.
For this reason, we have launched a dedicated fundraising campaign aimed at strengthening our education and livelihood programmes.

Access to education and skills development remains one of the most effective ways to support long-term inclusion and self-sustainability. Without adequate support:
- children risk being excluded from the education system
- women face significant barriers to accessing employment and income-generating opportunities
- families remain in situations of prolonged vulnerability and poverty
Through our programmes, we aim to respond to these challenges by providing both immediate support and long-term pathways to self-reliance.

Supporting Children’s Access to Education
Education is a fundamental right and a critical foundation for the future.
At the Crèche, we support children during a foundational phase that is crucial for their development and school readiness. Every child has the right to education, and our teachers ensure that, upon reaching key developmental milestones, each child is placed in school. We provide uniforms and learning materials, and we help families overcome administrative and financial barriers. Ensuring that a child can attend school is not only about education, but also about restoring stability, dignity, and hope.

Empowering Women Through Skills Training
Alongside education, access to practical skills plays a key role in enabling women to rebuild their lives. Through the Mother Assunta Training Centre, women have the opportunity to participate in courses such as sewing, baking, beauty, hairdressing, and computer skills. These programmes are designed to equip participants with practical tools that can be translated into income-generating activities.
For many women, this represents a turning point: the moment they begin to regain confidence, independence, and empowered to stand alone.
A Concrete Impact
This fundraising campaign focuses on tangible and achievable outcomes.
- €25 helps provide essential school materials
- €75 opens the door to a training opportunity
- €150 gives a child access to one full year of education
Through contributions like these:
- a child gains access to education
- a woman builds economic independence
- a family begins to move beyond vulnerability
The impact of education and skills goes beyond the individual. When a woman is empowered, the benefits extend to her children, her household, and the wider community.
A child who can attend school today has a real opportunity to break the cycle of poverty.
A woman who gains skills and income becomes an active agent of change in her own life.
