Residents and vulnerable women from the local community participated in the baking course. Students were from many different nationalities, the majority of which were from DRC.
Introduction
The catering and baking training was introduced as part of the livelihood program courses which enables students to quickly learn skills in order to become self-sustainable by running their own small businesses which does not require much initial investment.
Objective
The catering and baking courses provides students with the skills and knowledge to enable them to run their own businesses.
Activities
Students learn about food hygiene, safe storage and kitchen hygiene before commencing the course. Various cakes and pastries and taught by the facilitator during the three months. The course also includes teaching life skills and entrepreneurship
