Bienvenu Shelter empowers girls with educational and fun-filled School Holiday Programme.
The Bienvenu Shelter held a school term holiday programme from 6 to 10 October 2025, organized by the SCU Volunteers, offering a safe, enriching, and educational environment for children and youth during the break.
The programme, which is an extension of the Shelter’s year-round after-school support activities, focused on fostering a sense of community, ensuring children’s well-being, providing essential life skills, and a few days to learn, play, and be together.
A key feature of the holiday activities was an empowerment-focused menstrual health and hygiene workshop for the older girls. Recognising the challenges faced by young women from vulnerable backgrounds, including no access to menstrual materials and social stigma. The workshop aimed to educate and prepare the girls with such important knowledge.
